So... how do I force a clean uninstall of Virtual Machine Additions? Help. ) It's unlikely you're going to be able to do so. I've yet to see a solution to uninstalling VM Additions or VMW's VM Tools after a migration. Both put a lot of hooks into the OS and there's no "clean" way to do it without the uninstaller.
